Welcome to Puppy Central

“Temperament problems must be prevented during early puppyhood because rehabilitating adult dogs is complicated and extremely time-consuming.” – Ian Dunbar

During the Super Doodle Program, we are working with the puppies during their critical developmental stages.

  • From 3-16 days old, during neonatal development, we are doing Early Neurological Stimulation.
  • From 3-6 weeks old, during the early age socialization period, we start primary & secondary socialization and habituation.
  • At 7 weeks old, during fear impact period, we continue socialization, habituation and enrichment.

Review nutrition for the mother and puppies during pregnancy, lactation and weaning

Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS)

Training for Breeder to do some or all of the ENS sessions

Primary & Secondary Socialization

Perform socialization activities to teach puppies how to interact with dogs, humans and other animals

Habituation

Perform habituation activities to expose puppies to sounds, surfaces, objects and environments so they learn how to be comfortable in the real world

Enrichment

Expose the puppies to novel experiences that help them cope later in life

Early Training

Early potty training, crate training, prevent jumping, and basic behaviors like "Sit" and "Come"

Temperament is determined 35% by genes and 65% by how a puppy is raised. A good breeder can influence temperament through their breeding program. With a little bit of time and effort, a breeder can give their puppies early positive learning experiences that will dramatically influence their behavior and performance later in life. Without it, they may never reach their full potential or have a greater chance of behavior problems later in life.
